Review: Claimed by a Steele

Claimed by a Steele Claimed by a Steele by Brenda Jackson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I always enjoy a Brenda Jackson read, especially ones about the Steele brothers. In Claimed by a Steele, Gannon, the final brother is determined to keep his 10 year plan. His plan involves dating as many women that he can since his brothers are all married. But, that changes when he sees Delphine. Delphine is a journalist who is doing an article on Gannon, who has taken over his father's trucking business. I thought this was a sweet wrap-up of the Steele Brothers.

Review: The Stolen Daughter

The Stolen Daughter The Stolen Daughter by ReShonda Tate Billingsley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First of all, I finished this book in a few hours. Second of all. where has this book been all my life? A bit dramatic, I know, but I really enjoyed this read by ReShonda Tate Billingsley. I have read so many of her books already and this up there with my faves. Jill Reed learns a truth about herself and her mother that she was not prepared to face. I loved how the author allowed us to see the "WHY" behind each character's actions. You will not be disappointed in this read.

Review: The Dilemma

The Dilemma The Dilemma by B.A. Paris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Dilemma is a family drama. What had me turning the pages was my intense curiosity of what happened to Marnie, the daughter of main characters, Livvie and Adam. The focus of the story was around Livvie's 40th birthday bash which she has been planning for 40 years.
Throughout the story, all I could say was, please, please TALK to each OTHER. But, then, I guess, The dilemma would have been a five page read if they did.
I think B.A. Paris challenged herself and I loved that.

Review: Seduced by a Steele

Seduced by a Steele Seduced by a Steele by Brenda Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read several Brenda Jackson books and I enjoyed this one. Mercury is a womanizer who loves woman and cars. When his car is stolen, he is ready to go after the thief but meets a lovely woman, Sloane, instead. He finds himself doing things he wouldn't normally do all because of Sloane. You'll enjoy this quick read.

Review: It's Not All Downhill from Here

It's Not All Downhill from Here It's Not All Downhill from Here by Terry McMillan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am a Terry McMillan fan and was glad to see a story with older women. I thought that was fresh and I enjoyed the friendship between the woman. But, there was a lack of tension that made this book feel like I was reading a diary. It stayed even-keeled most of the way true. However, Ms. McMillan tackled a lot of relevant issues.

Review: The Other Mrs.

The Other Mrs. The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So... Uhm. Yeah. This was filled with so much twists and turns that it pushed toward unbelievable. However, what a great tale that explores a gripping subject matter. Sadie, her husband, Will move into the home his sister killed herself in and left her teenaged daughter, Imogen. All I can say is that this was the kind of read where each chapter unfolded events that brought you toward a conclusion, I didn't see coming.

Review: The Two Lives of Lydia Bird

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What an interesting concept. The author tells the story of Lydia's grief over two years. She's lost the love of her life and has found a way to keep him 'alive'. But grief is a process and loss does not affect only one person - families and friends are changed forever. So, as changes occur, can we remain stuck in the past.
Interesting read. Thank you #Netgalley
