Valderine Newton-Knowles offers practical steps to help you walk in the power
of God, showing that from the beginning, you were born to win. The Apostle Paul
spoke often of the power of God, and he spoke because of his personal
experiences. Now it’s time to take your personal experiences and begin a daily
diet on the word of God. It is the only thing that has the power to strengthen
your spirit and accomplish that which seems impossible.
Val, tell us about your book?
My
book has recently become an Amazon Bestseller in two Categories first Christian Living & Devotionals
and second Best Seller in Worship & Devotions. “Everyday Uplifting You: Daily Encouragement for Your Soul 365 Days of
Any Year” is filled
with daily nuggets to jumpstart your day. The nuggets are short but very
powerful.
How did you come up with idea for this book?
I was
actually writing another book when this book came about. I have at least 17
aunts, who are all very dear to me, but as in most families there are some who
stand out for different reasons, maybe they are the strong one, or the one who
always has the ability to get things done. For me there are 3 aunts that have
always been strong Christians who played a huge role in my life. One of them
went on to be with the Lord. One of my aunts went through a series of
challenges; she had several strokes, her husband went home to be with the Lord
and she fell in the yard requiring emergency surgery. I’ve seen her sad, I’ve
seen her cry, but on this particular visit, I saw her broken and it tore at me
and I wanted to do something, anything to help her understand how much she was
loved and valued. It was right there in her bedroom that I got the idea to
write motivational quotes for everyday and it was there, that the design
started to fall into place.
What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?
With
this particular book I honestly can’t say there was a difficult part with this
writing. It was a labor of love for me.
Why do you write?
I have
a genuine love for people. Writing helps me to send that love out to the
masses. In my writing, I hope that readers will see and feel the genuine love
and care that I seek to express. I use the avenue of writing to express what is
in my heart to be a blessing to people all over the world. If I can help to
inspire, uplift and motivate others with this gift that He has given me while
pointing them to Christ then that is a blessing for me.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your
book?
We can
all use encouraging words sometimes and we are never alone even if it seems
like it. A lot of the daily motivation is this book is designed to help us keep
going. It’s written in a way that the
reader will know that I am right there walking with them through each day. But
most importantly, our heavenly Father is also there each step of the way with
us, hence you will see the phrase, Together we can and we will.”
